Hudson 112 for hire in Billingshurst
Hire this Hudson 112 for your event
Extremely rare, possibly unique, in the UK (and rare in the USA) the Hudson 112 has recently - well 5 years ago - been painted in two tone grey, giving the car a military appearance. Upholstered in blue leather, the front and rear bench seats hold 6 adults (with no seatbelts fitted): another few can be accommodated on the rear floor.
The car was born in the USA - built and then 'knocked down'; before being shipped to England in 1938, and re-assembled at the Hudson factory on the Great West Road in Brentford, Middlesex (as was). Sold to the Marchioness of Northampton, this Hudson was fitted with a larger, 3.5 litre engine and a sunshine roof, which is not quite visible in the photos but which now opens fully. Everything works, including the clocks now, but some bits are slightly less than robust: she needs to be treated fairly gently.
Available - with driver, who is old, fat, white, with plenty of hair but not very agile - from about 8am to 8pm on every day of the year, the driver has to give precedence during term time weekdays to his lollipop lady duties, which will be a bit longer than usual when schools return in September. He is happy to dress up, eg as a lollipop lady, as that's the only uniform he has at present, and as Father Xmas, though that costume is getting a bit threadbare. The fat guy in Sergeant Bilko's motor transport unit is a distinct possibility, as are other roles requiring a lack of dignity eg pantomime dame, friar tuck, etc.
