Jaguar SS 100
1938 Jaguar SS 100. The lines of this car are just stunningly beautiful. Many copied the styling post war but few captured it fully and by then the world was moving on. Finished in silver with the standard maroon wheels the interior is mid blue leather seats and carpet, with a stainless machine turned dashboard, not original. Designed as the first 100 mph production car it easily achieved the speed and still today sits pretty comfortably at around 70 mph. Reliable and used weekly throughout the brighter weather it puts a smile on everybody's face! The car is fitted with wet weather gear including a hood and side screens but if it rains you have to accept you will get moderately soggy!
Mechanically there are a number of welcome improvements that make the car comfortably drive-able in today's world and it has been to Southern France on a number of occasions without difficulties. An all round great looking mid 30's piece of combined artwork and engineering in very close harmony.
