A rare 107 " Land Rover Station Wagon , built in 1958 for use on "The Savile Estate" in West Yorkshire to carry Lord George Savile and other members of the aristocracy to the Grouse shoot as well as carrying out other duties, the vehicle being always chauffeur driven.
The Savile's were one of the largest land owners in the country dating back to the days of Oliver Cromwell and Lord George regularly entertained royalty at his home in Calderdale.
Lord George was a good friend of Raine the daughter of Barbara Cartland the famous novelist and socialite. Raine who later became Countess Spencer was the stepmother of Lady Diana Spencer , Princess of wales.
The land rover has been sympathetically restored keeping most of its interior trim and original features and can carry 9 passengers.
